Gratz on the new arrival! I bought the DVD's from Bob and have emailed with him extensively. He's been a huge help with my build also. I took a trip to his shop this last summer on my way through St George and I got a chance to see your frame and body in person. It's a fine piece of work and Bob definitely is one of the best and you have a really nice machine there.

Thanks again guys, hopefully I'll be able to post car stuff again this weekend.

@litemup66 - no kidding? Bob told me about your visit and emails a couple of times. He's truly a great guy and an amazing craftsman! I suspect you got to see how bad this body really was, so you can also attest to Bob's bodywork skills too!

This last summer the body was painted and on a cart, I think he had just finished the doors. I actually took a trip that way the summer previous also and stopped for a bit and the body was still in the booth and if I recall it had just been stripped, but I'm afraid I don't remember much more than being terribly jealous. I've picked up a body since then and I can relate to a long process of making something look nice.

I always tend to learn things the hard way, but don't we all? I went up to Bob's today to finish up all of the detail areas like door jambs and the dash rail. Damn those little areas take FOREVER! You guys are probably laughing at me and my inexperience. Next time I know I'll do the details areas first, but I did have to learn how to do it first and develop a technique.

I also finished blending/sanding the new clear on the repaired passenger side corner.

I can't believe this work took me four hours to sand with 1000 grit. Ran out of time to work it with 2000/2500 and buff it. Maybe a few more days.

Nope, that just means we're enjoying it! You don't get stone chips in the garage or an enclosed trailer! ;)

Use caution while driving it, but for sure you have to be driving it and enjoying it! Otherwise, why did you build it? But that is one reason I won't be cutting and buffing mine, I plan to drive it as much as I can, so it will be painted and enjoyed. :p

I'll never understand the people who have cars that refuse (or are too scared) to drive them. To each their own, but having a garage/trailer queen doesn't seem enjoyable in my mind. My '50 sits in my garage and it pisses me off. It doesn't sit there because it's too nice, but because I can't get the flatty running good enough to drive.

I understand what they are saying, but I don't understand why they dont build something to enjoy and drive a lot!
One has to get out there and enjoy it, to make it a traditional build.

If I ever get enough money to by a famous rod, like the McCullough roadster, Ivo's bucket or the Isky roadster, I would be scared shirtless every to r I took it out!!
But for the same money I could build me a 31 chevy roadster with a hot six, a 31 ford Tudor with a flathead and still have money left to Daily Drive the roadster and take the family out for a "fanzy steak dinner" in the Tudor!

And that's how I will do it, Happy Wife, happy life. And keep it on the road!! Happy rodding and nice progress! Lookin forward for more!

PETE! Good to hear from you brother, I don't see you much anymore here or on Instagram. Hope all is well.
Man, that is one of the most beautiful areas around here! I have a buddy that lives there with an amazing house and garage. He's building a '32 highboy roadster and is one hell of a nice guy! We bought (and remodeled) a home in Washington Fields a year ago. Hope to start building the shop this fall/winter. Gimme a shout, I work from home so I'm around a lot.
