  2. I'll take the T pics. Thanks!

  3. Yeah well, I was gonna mention that you can fit a steel one, but I was taking about 'as you buy them.' ;)

Grouchos was a body from Australia. it was Rodbods,

    Same as steel.

Some of these are really hard to tell. Makes me rethink the fiberglass option.

  5. Sorry guys, this is as close as I can get right now short of tearing it apart and doing it more traditional. my roadster & \'40 Coupe.jpg

  7. I really love some of this stuff. Very nice selection of hot rods.
I have one glass roadster in my garage so of course I'm prejudiced.

A little hard to he so biased after seeing such fine examples.

I live in a world of A's, they are still cheap. If stepped into the 32-34 there is no doubt it would be a glass car.

If a car looks good, sits right, and has all the right stuff, it's good enough for me if it's glass.

    EXCELLENT THREAD

So what's the difference...Brookville or Westcott both are reproductions. I drove the wheels off this Westcott roadster and kick myself for selling it! Deuce Hi-Boy (864 x 582).jpg

  14. This was my friends car..BeBop body.....sold and now in Sweden...Was chosen twice at GG's..Invited to Indy / US nats display by NHRA...not bad for a 'glas car DSC00772.jpg

  15. Not a rust hole or patch panel in sight. A nice alternate change.

Dave....this is directed only to those that don't "get it".
The difference is one was built by an original hot rod pioneer, the other one wasn't.
And yes, I'm aware of the B-ville lineage.
Your right, you should have kept it, great looking car.

Repop steel firewall in a nice 'glass '32 roadster or 5 window...(moreso, a Phaeton!) makes a great start.
I'm an old diehard that preached "Steel!" But having built some 'glass cars and driven them, I'm grateful they are available.
Brookville steel is 'out of my window' as far as $$ go, as for my current 'glass car, it's a Polyform '27 roadster on '32 rails...with a gennie steel firewall.
My '27 tub is steel, but a '32 in the future might be 'glass.
This was a very informative thread, hopefully it'll lead someone to the 'glass 'compromise', instead of not building or settling for a Camaro...

In my humble opinion Rhett Butler said it best---" Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn"----If it looks right, IT'S RIGHT-----In my humble opinion. BILL RINALDI

Yes , the "tell" is usually the firewall, the hinges , and the latches , but some company's have changed some body lines or pannels those always stick out because they don't look quite right

A cool car is a cool car ... Glas or not , I kinda like it when a glas car fools me , it usually means someone on a budget gave a shit and went a few extra steps to make it look right!

Traditional enough for me. Credit for the picture of my car goes to Royboy productions. I hope you don't mind. 2015_Stray_Kat_500__376-M.jpg

  22. That car demonstrates how a proper windshield, hinges and door handles get the job done. It looks the part.

I put a genuine 32 fire wall in mine complete with rust pits but wish I'd bought better hinges and genuine latches, that said it fools most and these days a 32 roadster body would have cost almost as much as my whole build

How does a glass car drive "differently" than a steel car? Is it the sound?

  27. I use to say when questioned about my roadster.."It may not be real but it's sure real fun"

I would much rather drive a glass car than wish I had a roadster. HRP
