Event Coverage ~~JALOPY JAMUP 2015~~

I'm debating on whether to leave Thursday night or Friday morning. I've got about a 5.5 hour drive (if no big delays at the border).
I'm kind of winging it on where I'm staying. I haven't made any plans. I may run up to Owen Sound, but don't really want to be a 1/2 away from the show. I'll probably end up camping.
Getting excited to meet some new friends!

 

There's certainly lots of room to camp.

 

What is the local forecast?
My weather app shows a pretty good chance of rain Thursday through Sunday?
What are you locals hearing?

 

Good!
That's way better than the forecast I was getting.
I'm just trying to decide to drive the coupe (on slicks) or trailer the truck.
I had the coupe in Cleveland the other night in a hard rain after dark, it was a pucker moment with my current tires.

Just leaving for Durham . Dog Spit ( http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/reliving-my-youth.984769/ ) is all loaded and ready to go. Was great last year, will only be better this year, no rain.

A super big thanks to the jalopy jamup crew for an awesome show great people and some great cars and Kool Wheels in Caledonia Ontario for the wide white wall tires that they raffled off that I was fortunate enough to win.

 

Rode up with my buddy Hightower early yesterday and was just blown away! What a neat deal this was. Congrats to Jeff, Jay and friends. Absolutely stellar!

 

It was a great show!! Next year it will be even BIGGER!

Here are some teaser pics to keep you guys happy for now. I am on my phone so I can't post too much. Big props go out to Jeff, Brandon, Jay and everyone else who helped to make this event what it was. Best hot rod party I've been to in a long time.

 

Jeez guys, can't a guy home and unwind do before posting pics? It was tough to post anything from the event as the Internet service there was sketchy.

Here is a great shot of the brains behind the Jam Up, Jeff Norwell and Jay Tyrrell, along with Chuck Vranas and some other schmuck that may or may not be me.



The show was awesome! Great cars, super cool people, excellent bands, and even a cold beer or two.

Thanks for taking the time to post the photo's,me living on the right coast tell me about the setting,is it a park or a old west town or someones back yard? HRP

 

Danny, the location is a old western town built on privately owned piece of land. The story I heard was it was built from reclaimed materials back in the 1970's. It was a dude ranch where you could stay for a week and live out all your cowboy fantasies. Now he rents it out for car shows, biker parties and hippy-fests.
We pretty much packed the place with over 300 cars and the on-site camping. The owner did say he had just bought a bulldozer and would be clearing more land this fall. after this year, it seems everyone involved thinks this thing is only going to grow in the future.

 

Great show! Made the trip up again from Buffalo in the ol' reliable 59 wagon. Wouldn't miss it! Thanks for such a great event to Jeff, Jay and brandon! Met so many cool people and saw tons of awesome hot rods! Will be back again next year! Here's a pic I took that i really dig...
