That CAN'T be an Alaska rake. There ain't no show on it. HUH? I feel just like you do, Alaska. HRP's rides have the typical cool rake without looking like they are standing on their fucking grilles. Now I think I know how Special Ed got his name. There are definitely some on here who covet their opinions maybe too mucho. Like assholes, everyone has an opinion, and some stink more than others. Holy shit, let's go cruising ! ! ! ! !

The '29 sedan and the 2 phone booths couldn't look any finer.........................unless they were in MY garage. Classic.

I didn't know you could build them any other way...
The red & white one wasn't even done and you can see the rake. Even my 4x4 work truck (not pictured) has a rake to it! Gene

Its a little un-nerving whenever Marty posts his stuff. It seems like pretty much everything he has, I either A) have B) have had at some point in the past or C) have always wanted!
If I had garage space for two more cars, I would buy and restore my buddies '63 sport fury 383 golden commando and be on the hunt for a '49/'52 88 to clone this with.

I posted this car on the "fifties cars as hot rods" thread last year, I was totally knocked out by it, thought it was one of the coolest things I'd ever seen.

honestly, to my eye, a lot of the cars posted on the "California rake" thread, and even on this thread don't really look like what I think of when I think "rake". This car really nails it, the heavy rake, the slicked up body, the nerfs, man, I'd love to build something like this. Too many cars, too little time left on the clock, and not enough garage space...:( cant have it all...

  29. I've got lots of 'em posted on my site. http://streetrodder.net/category/my_hotrods/40_stake_bed/

The photo session was courtesy of American National Property and Casualty. They asked to shoot it for potential use in some of their classic vehicle insurance marketing materials. I was pretty honored to be asked and jumped at the chance. That particular shot was one that I took with my phone.
