Been following since the beginning. Then I get to the part where I have to go back to post 121 to refresh my memory on the deck lid. Then it hits me, holy crud he fabbed that shit way before all that cut, squeeze, bang, blow, drink, weld, hammer, shit on the quarters, roof fab. And the dam thing is still going to fit.

You've stuck to your plan well.
Your head :mad:must hurt sometimes, but it will be worth it when she's done.

    Keep up the good work!

  6. Alright. You've had a few weeks of disco nights to rest up. Hoping you're ready to jump out of that fancy polyester white dancing suit ... and get back to crushing beer cans, sipping tequila, and performing miracles again. ;)

I was just checking in. Hope the paying work is flowing out of your ears. Cash is always king. Everywhere.

  7. Yeah. What's going on over there? Tequila shots??

  8. I wish :)
Mercedes V8 into a 1959 Mercedes 190 SL and Willys overland RPU is keeping me busy.

Anything we should see pictures of ? :)

  10. Well I started a thread on the willys and there was no interest

1985 v8 into That Mercedes is making me think way too hard, Talk about 10 pounds in a 5 pound bag.
Some genius butcher was there before me and the first order of business was to remove his nincompoopery and fingerprints then graft a complete unibody front frame section back into the car. Starting from scratch and then some. Then modify the graft to fit the engine ever so gently. I'll get a thread when it's all done. Is a 190sl on topic ?

Modifying an older car to put a V8 of some sort in it, seems appropriate,

cool did you make the hood. Next project for me

  14. I put a 289 in a stock frame 190SL front frame wraparound has guests in side

  15. I never paid to much attention to a 117 Mercedes oil Pan but its front sump , square & huge like a Trans Pan.

The front pulley is equally in the way of everything.

If you look close you can see the layout lines of what's coming out of the stock ponton sub frame.

Took the inside corners out after I built the out side corners up.

After it was all said and done, it looked factory. It just looks like there's nothing to look at. So much work and thought into it too.

The steering worked out 100% perfect geometry too.

your car looks awesome good job !!!!!!

  19. Well hopefully I get it finished lol!
    How's that for a plan?
This is a spare time project and spare time is kinda short at the moment. Since we get 8 months of crappy weather it should move along a bit soon. I was debating if I should start a part 2 thread or just push this one on thru till the end.

    Thanks !

  20. If you start a part two please post the link to it here. Thanks.

Any plan is a good plan, I just like this coupe, the combination of body parts gives it a great look, finished or not. it was fun and painful watching the truth come to the surface, and you finding a cure.
