I've loved '41 Buick fastbacks since I saw Lee Pratt drive one to the first Leadsled
Spectacular. Dennis McPhail owns this Kool Ride.

Last Spring I spent the day with Kustom Legend Gary Glasgow. Gary is one of the Kats that I look up to and like most of us we have bought a lot of kool parts from him when he owned the Kustom accessory business called Night Prowlers. Glasgow drove all over the country and took some kool pics during his travels. I was fortunate to be able to scan a lot of kool pics. Stay tune I'll be posting most of them.

Lets start the week right. More Kustom Pics.

First KKOA Spectacular in Wichita. I fell in love with that yellow Merc, I wonder if it is still around?

  18. I haven't seen or heard of any hint of that car in a long, long time, but man oh man, did I love it and hope it's still around somewhere just waiting to be put back on the road just like that. You'd think that most all these cars are still around somewhere, many of them probably redone and not recognizable from what they were then, but surely they are still someplace. We all know customs fell from favor once and all but vanished, but since the initial resurgence in the 80's, they really haven't dropped off again, so you would think most all of these have been passed on to somewhere if not still in some of the same garages.

I was told that the yellow Merc was painted candy maroon with a digital dash and ghost flames with a tweed
interior. I hope to see updated pictures of the Merc. I would call it a legendary Mercury. It fired up a lot of
people in the eighties to build a Merc.

  22. I knew I had seen that grille before, Mo....but I was thinking to myself, I need to look this Merc up because I don't remember the doors being like that, but I haven't had a chance to go searching. Guess considering the grille wasn't even in a Merc, I'd likely have never found it. Thanks for posting the source.

I found another album with some pics from a mid 90's Kkoa event but I can't remember which one. The riviera here is the Barris built villa riviera, someone was trying to make it "their own" by painting it blue!! Wonder where it is today?

  30. That chopped '58 impala convertible was for sale at Ft Smith about '94 for $8500. I needed a car at the time because my daily driver '64 Pontiac had been rear ended. I wanted that car baaaaad, but I had just finished school and money was not something available to me....it may as well had been a million bux. LOL What a deal that would have been. It had a full tuck and roll white interior, and fully detailed 348 or 409 with 6 carbs loaded with finned aluminum and chrome. I haven't seen it since.
