Is 1953 a one year only steering box or is there a year range of F-1 boxes that are the same?

The box that seems to work best in A-V8's is a 1948-1952 F1.

The 53-56 F100 boxes put the column up higher, which can interfere with the rear exhaust port.

F1 boxes run from 1948 thru 1952. F100 boxes started the following year thru '56.

  11. yes, most people use the F1 box like was said but I used a '57 chevy 1/2 ton box

  12. ^^^ yep. I like the F-100 box myself but they don't work well on an A V8 the F-1 box is the ticket.

  14. F 1 boxes are easy to come by and relatively inexpensive. I think I saw one today for a buck and a quarter or so.
