From what I'm seeing it is a Chevrolet cap from 33-34. Neat looking piece. Just wanted to find out what it was. Again, thanks HAMB members!
I have the same one. Was told it was a chevy or olds. I am gonna modify it to fit a 33 ford truck shell.
I have one, too. I always wondered what it was from. What an elegant form...can't beat the 30's for beauty.
1933-34 Chevrolet radiator cap. My 33 Chevy Master had one of those there things on top of the radiator till I replaced it with one with an Eagle on it. So my guess would be a 33 or 34 Chevy. That matches the peak on the front fenders.
At a show yesterday and a couple came in, he was driving a 39 chev and she was driving a 38. Very cool cars.
Is it the same for 35? Mine doesn't have one, and if the 35 isn't the same, I think I need one of them 33 34 ones.
This looks like the perfect piece to start a project with, no more excuses. ......................... Jack
T1, This actually happened to me, I was at a swap meet in '98 and found a set of perfect and complete '33 Chev. head lights, spotless chrome, excellent reflectors and clear unmarked lenses . The guy didn't want to haul them home, and offered them to me for $40.00 for the pair, too nice, too cheap, had to take them home. Now I had no more excuses for not building the Lakes modified roadster I've always wanted to build. Its been more than 10 years in process and it about 70% finished, I'm still hacking at it hopping to finish in my lifetime. ................................... Jack
Are these things chromed steel or brass? My is fully chromed and needs some mods if I am going to use a 34 Ford rad cap rebuild.
It's as good a reason to start a car, as any. My 34 started with a bare dual quad intake for a Caddy V8. Later added the engine.....Then other misc. parts, (gauges, Impala steering wheel, steering box, and a 59 Pontiac rear axel)....Then finally the car itself. Always figured it would be a Ford instead of a Chevy, though
