I'm working on a 1954 Oldsmobile 88 it has the stock dash and gauges but has a 1979 small block Chevy engine, what sensors will work for temperature and oil pressure gauges, both are electrical and I'd like to keep the dash stock. Anyone have a newer part number that is readily available at an Autozone, Napa or similar?

    Thanks in Advance

I was mistaken the oil pressure gauge is mechanical so no issue there.

Question still remains for the temperature sending unit, are they rated differently like fuel sending units? Or will any one wire sensor work?

Use the original sensor, and adapt the 1/2" NPT thread to fit on the upper radiator hose.

Standard Ignition TS-6 works in Chevys, at least if they're the older design that uses 1/2" pipe thread.

not available at Oreilleys, not sure about NAPA...maybe TS6469 at NAPA.

this may or may not work on your car.

$9 shipped from ebay, thanks a lot the more I research the more it looks like it should work just fine.
