It's been a while since I've been on here. I ended up selling my '54 just after I picked up all the parts for my T5 swap (hotrodworks adapter, t5 mount and sachs s10 clutch for sale - $200...all brand new, never used). Anyway, I found a '52 Deluxe sedan but the guy wants $6000! Does that seem reasonable or way over priced? It has a '57 235, PG, exterior visor, new fuel tank, split manifold, new www, skirts, pretty solid floors and it's already swapped to 12v. What do you guys think?

I'd have no idea as to whether $6,000 is reasonable without a description or pics of it. But for reference, the car in my avatar, more pics in my album, went for $6,750 on eBay a couple years ago and the buyer still had to pay $850 to ship it. I sold it in the dead of winter and I'm thinking I could have gotten $7,500 if I waited till spring.

I'm wanting another 51/52 Chevy and I would have no problem paying $6,000 for a solid one.

  8. It's a small world!:)..........Stefan, I see that you aren't on the Md. HAMB Social Group. You really should check it out and join in. There are dozens of folks on there and probably some who would be willing to check out your potential purchase just to give you an "unbiased" opinion on condition, price, etc. I always appreciate a second set of eyes on a car if for no other reason than I tend to buy more on emotion than good sense some times. Check it out. Where is the car located?

Well, kinda. It runs really well but it's stalling when in gear and at a standstill. When coming to a stop I need to put it in neutral and give the gas a tap so it doesn't quit on me.

I gave up on that '52 and got a '51 Belair instead. The '52 ran great but needed a ton more body/interior work on top of all glass, and wiring. It's alot easier (and less expensive) to make a car run better than it is to make one look better. Speaking of which, if anyone in the md area has a rochester b (or bc) they'd like to part with let me know

Give rebuilding the carb a shot, those couldn't get much simpler. It too worn out to rebuild check out Langdon's for a new replacement. Know of a couple people who have used his parts and have been very satisfied.
