Goes to show you don't need a bunch of high tech equipment to have fun at Bonneville!

  7. Incredible footage! Its amazing what one can do with a couple of I-Phones and some tape. I love that car! I think Bobby Green and Lucky Burton are responsible for inspiring many to get involved in LSR and a resurgence in "vintage" LSR. Would the V4 and XF classes even exist without there pursuit for a record in the Old Crow belly tank???

that was our cherry popping year also. I proudly lay claim to basking in some of the old crow fame and success. Thanks for sharing the video, that sure does help relive some of the memories.

Nothing better than a belly tank, the Salt Flats, beer, and good friends....Unless one of your good friends had a streamliner and more expensive beer. ;)

Thanks for the video, 2 years cancelled now due to wet conditions. I'm beginning to miss it.
Got my "salt cherry" popped at the fall meet in 1979. Wendover (Leftover?) was a lot different in those days...

  13. What kinda speeds does that thing run? Hopped up model B 4 banger, right?

That was a terrific moment around here. The stories and footage infected us all with a bit of "salt fever".
I for one felt loosely connected with a great vintage pursuit.

Fuckin awesome. Great trip and great video fellas

  16. Boy does that make me miss not going to the salt this year. Sure does suck not having speed week for the second year in a row. Roadster was all packed, fueled and ready to head west when I got the news.
Makes me wonder if this great event will continue in years to come.
What does everyone think about it????

  17. Damn. 2009 I-phone makes me feel old. Salt doesn't though .... freeze dried and salted, speed makes you young doesn't it ?

That was a good time Ryan. I'll never forget it. Frankly, between the salt fever clouding our judgement with the rental car, the Eastern European girls and the troublemakers in the casino, I'm a little surprised we made it back to Austin.

2009 was my first year there, went back in 2013 was planning to go next year but the salt conditions are going south thanks to the BLM ,they are letting money cloud their judgment on overseeing the salt. A lot of history is going to be lost if things keep going the way they are. I hope Save the Salt and the SCTA can do something to preserve the salt flats for future use by Landspeed racers.

Hi Ryan, What speed have the guys done at each of the 2 meets they have been to please? I'm well on the way with a build and trying to get a feel of expectations...Thanks.
It was a visit to Old Crow a couple of years ago that inspired me!
