I have had this car for a few years now. It has sat around for a long time. I just sold my 72 Cheyenne Super and some parts so now my poncho can get some love. This will be my first build!

Hopefully she will be pulled out of her dungeon very soon.

I have only had it running once. I burned up the starter the first day. It's still all original, but I found a high compression head off of a 52 for it. I also got my hands on a Edmunds dual carb intake with carbs and linkages. I am planning on keeping it 6 volt. Might go tail dragger.

Car looks great! Do you have any pictures of the intake and the head?

Pile of parts. A head, a nos drivers fender, and a visor.

I think the last 2 photos are pretty self explanatory. I will say I have more money in this than I have in the car and everything else combined. It's sad but I had to have it!

Not sad at all. That totally rocks! Water heated, and polished too.
To me, that would make it among the most interesting cars at any show. (I would need a sign to catch the head swap, though. ;))
Will you be splitting the pipes? A little info can be found HERE: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/1951-pontiac-straight-8-split-exhaust-manifold.605805/

    Pretty cool, huh?

Hi Mo, I always wanted to change the exhaust somehow. I just wasn't sure how to go at it. I'm also still in the market for a finned head. I just have never had the opportunity to buy one.

For now I'm just going to work on getting it started, and then getting her on the streets again. This weekend I am getting a POR-15 kit for the tank, gonna have the starter rebuilt, and I will order a fuel sending unit. That should be a pretty good chunk of what it needs to fire up again.

Well I have some bad news. I had mentioned that I sold my truck and now had money to fix the car. Well while the truck was listed so was the car. I ended up taking the listing down on the car. A guy called and said he had the money and a trailer. So since he didn't argue with my price he has it now. I hate to see it go, but I can use the money to fix our new house. The worst part is that I had just gotten excited about it again. Now I'm without any project vehicles. Still have parts though haha.

Ha Mo I got you, but I think I'm gonna parts hoard for a bit. I would still like to get my hands on a 53 Chieftain Custom Catalina or a 54 Star Chief Catalina. I guess I won't need my visor or fender skirts though. Might be listing those soon. Don't know..... still in shock my car is gone. I had that thing almost 5 years. That's the longest I have ever kept any vehicle.

I wouldn't sell all your parts yet. You never what might show up 10 miles down the road . OR blow Her mind, buy her a new dishwasher.

Too late alicia-dusty. I sold almost everything already. Still have the head and intake, but listed the intake on eBay. Need the money for house projects. It's not a upgrade it's a make it livable thing. We bought a 100+ year old house that was tore up.
