My car was in a photo shoot a few days ago and they wanted me to put my factory wheels and tires back on. It has been a while since I had seen it stock.......

You're right, it looks good stock, but it also looks good with the chrome wheels. I have two set of wheels and tires for the roadster, steelies and wires. I switch them out about once a year, gives it a different look.

Very cool car. Both choices look good but I vote for the chrome and WWW's. Maybe add some bullet spider caps???

I vote for chrome wheels with black wall tires or the black rims with skinny whites ,beauty rings and smoothie hubcaps

  7. Chrome wheels and wide whites never made it for me. I'd do chrome with blackwalls. Just my worthless humble opinion.

Ain't it fun to have choices! :)

  9. I love wide whites and chrome reverse wheels but I agree with you, your car looks better with the stock wheels. It looks more like a sleeper hot rod.

No comparison, stock looks way better.

  14. Tough call, both look good. Though I think personally I'm partial to the www and chromes only because the blackwalls and poverty caps give it a bit of a Muscle Car vibe... not that there's anything wrong with that.

I think the wide whites make your car look more custom, cruiser . The stockers represent more of a hot rod, sleeper, sinister look I love.(my avitar). Either way that's a damn nice car I would love to own. :)

I'm usually a bigger fan WWW but the the black walls and black wheels look slick with black car. I think chrome steelies would look better with some chrome spider caps. Great looking car by the way.

Thank you all for the compliments. I wonder what it would look like with black wall firestones on the chrome steelies?

I have done that with caps before I probably would think twice on wheels.

I like it both ways but I am not a fan of wide whites guess it is the era I grew up in. Nice thing is that with both sets you can switch when you feel like it. ;)

Well, if leaving certain things stock looks and works better than a change for the sake of a change, then I'm in the wrong place ...

I gotta say I agree actually. I've never been a wide white fan. Having said that I still think the car looks great both ways! I remember when I reversed the whitewalls on my old '51 Chev and the guys in the shop I worked in were in disbelief that I'd prefer blackwalls. Heh.

I love that car though. VERY nicely done!

blackwalls and caps looks good, save the wide whites for the custom guys or a fancy Bel Air

  25. The blackwalls, stock wheels, and poverty caps make it look like someone's grandfather's car, although I'm sure it doesn't sound or run like it. Yet, it still looks good cuz that's a great looking and well cared for car. The www's and chrome wheels look good cuz they offset the large amount of black with some color and pizzazz. It also shows some individualism, like the blue dots in the tail lights, and that's what it is all about not change for change sake. Bottom line is that it doesn't matter what anyone else likes, it's what you like and think looks best. That'll be your individual style. Go for it.

It looks menacing with the black wheels & tires, particularly as you have a little rake on it. If & when you revert to the chromies and WWs, try it with dog dish hubcaps and CLEAN YOUR WHITEWALLS!
