  2. I have an offer for someone. I was given this model years ago and haven't done anything with it. It's a mostly complete old AMT kit of a 1933 Willys.

It may be worth a dollar or two but I have no idea, so if you want it and can do something with it, it's yours. I'll also throw in some other random model stuff of the same vintage. Just pay the shipping and it's all yours.[IMG][IMG][IMG]

I am building a AMT 36 Ford coupe into a late 40s custom, found the chopped top and fender skirts from a early kit and using the Desoto bumpers and flipper hubcaps from the 40 sedan delivery kit. The kit I have is a somewhat recent release that had most of the custom parts and almost all of the convertible parts too but the instructions only show building it as a stock coupe,I did pick up what it was missing for the convertible so I will pick up another to build one as a convertible as a early 60s hotrod

The new issue of this kit has all the old custom parts restored, chopped top, conv. , plus new tooling chrome steelies that are pretty nice.

I will have to look into the new issue but a older issue will be fine since I have the parts.

Joker, that convertible sedan is coming along nicely!
Pscott, clean job on the Impala!

I'm slowly working on finishing up the mild custom '59 Sunliner. Here are shots from a couple weeks ago. The interior is almost done now (there's a lot foil work on the door panels and dash of this car.) Outside will get some Watson-style panel outlines and scallops in silver

Nice work, rc57! I especially like the '34 5W and the Chevy pickup.

    Joker, nice details
    on the interior and engine!

I finished up the interior on the Sunliner a while back. Now the body is getting taped up for the panels and scallops.

  28. Nice stuff, Joker and Froghawk.

I've been working on a Monogram 39 Chevy coupe. I made some lowering blocks for out back, and have shaved and trimmed the frame where the leaf springs attach as much as I can to try to lower it without cutting the front spring/axle assembly apart to use a drop axle. I added some material to the top of the frame rails in the rear so I can cut a new notch out of it to give the rear axle some clearance (No pic of that yet). I'm leaning toward using these 37 Ford artillery wheels with a smooth or Chevy center cap, though I'm not 100% set on them.
I think this pic was before the lowering blocks.

The interior sucks on this kit, so I've cut the little jump seat out of the rear, crudely patched the holes it left behind, and have started on my first half-round tuck and roll interior. It won't be fancy, but will add some detail where there was none before. I plan on using an AMT 55 BelAir bench seat instead of the crappy high back buckets that came in it.

Looks great, ebs! I like the wheel/tire choice – nice to see this kit built with something that doesn't look too "street-roddy.” Interior coming along great. With all that work you're going to need to do that interior in light colors so it'll visually “pop” inside that coupe body.

  30. Yeah, I keep trying to remind myself how little I'll be able to see, but this is how it goes...
