What year was the last ford tie rod end like the model A with 2 cups and a spring pushing on the ball , before they went to a normal modern style end with enclosed ball and tapered shaft bolt on?
I ordered 2 rebuild kits for a '32 drag link from Mac's last month and still haven't got them. I believe their catalog list them for up to '56 F100.
I've got them from up to 56 F100's. Having said that, I have no idea whether the internals are all exactly the same.
The early 1966 Bronco had that style at the pitman arm end of the draglink. It was changed to the modern style sometime during the '66 model year. Vehicles with external ram power steering, such as leaf sprung 4x4 trucks, and Falcon based chassis (Maverick and Granada), used the ball stud and cups into the mid '70's, but it was integral with the steering control valve.
