Features Not an Ardun - Stephens (Stevens) Flathead Conversion

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by WestCoastChris, Jun 10, 2015.

  1. LOL isn't a valve in head converted flathead still considered to be a flathead? That question has plagued me as long as I can remember. :D

Oh neat mill by the way.

Is Kaitlin still considered a husband/stepdad to the Kardashians?

  3. Kind of what I thought but you'll find as many to argue the fact that have no idea as fleas on a hound.

What always impressed me about a flat head 4 cylinders between mains and it will live at those hp numbers.

I can definitely fix those fleas on your hound. I recommend the Seresto collar but we've got to treat all those cats, too. However, If it's an OHV conversion and you're using different heads, how can it be a Flathead? If you don't have flathead heads, it's not a flathead. period.

Gary A. , What color should I paint my Prius ?

  9. All Pri-i should be painted with Rainbows and Unicorns, to symbolize the fantasy.

I was on the freeway the other day and in the lane next to me was a Prius with a Honda generator strapped to the rear bumper and a cord coming out of the hatch, plugged in.
I spilled my coffee and missed taking the picture. Now I am on the lookout, will turn pic into AQMD if plate showing.

Yada yada yada to all the 'extra' posts. I'll. tell you, I was standing at the start area when Bill started off down the tract last weekend. It ran strong all the way, never missed a beat. In fact someone asked was that a flathead?
    It was Purdy.
It sounded like a smooth SBC or even a Hemi and went like stink..

My OT Prius is red. You can laugh all you'd like, but I enjoy driving to work and long trips getting that 50+MPG. At $3.00/gallon, that means I'm paying 6 cents a mile for fuel. How you doin? Off the line at a stop light, you'd be amazed at the acceleration-at least up to 50 or so-you get the motor and all the elctrics from an instant start and it pulls pretty well..

But, I'll save my HAMB discussions for my chopped '31 A. Thanks.

Wow! If that doesn't make the hair stand up on your neck, you don't have any. Thanks for posting the entire video, I plan on making it to El Mirage this fall. There was a Jim Stevens that drag raced a B/SR with a Boss 302, could it be the same person?

The very same Jim Stevens, just after he quit racing his Boss motored Maverick, he built a Flathead powered street rod, took a trip to the Salt Flats, became obsessed with making flatheads go fast and has been landspeed racing them since 1990.

He actually began at Bonneville with the very same roadster: [IMG]

Jim Lattin does have a complete original Stephens including the shiny valve covers. After casting a new set of heads from the original and developing the entire package, covers were of course needed. Stevens fabricated the covers to accommodate the massive rockers pictured and put his personal touch on them.

It's already pretty low, so how about if I just put a flathead in it?
