Some 'toon sketches.


Carcraft is at Wisconsin State fair park. They were looking for car club volunteers to help out...never got back to us. Bummer. Well, there's the Meltdown tomorrow.

OK, I'll play along with the red theme.

 

Been doing a lot of sketching this week. The first two from photos, one a vintage the other my own. I did the other four at a car show last night.

 

Got some pictures...first batch was taken at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway during the Sportscar Vintage Racing Association Invitational in early June. It's the second year of the fantastic event with everything from early racers to now uncompetitive 2000's models. This year I was able to catch the Pre-War group qualifying.

I will adapt my original post to fit the 'red' theme today but, for now, some shades of red from the archives...

 

The second batch! These were taken at the Dream Cars exhibit at the Indianapolis Museum of Art, which is running until August. It's a beautiful exhibit of several concept cars, prototypes, and oddities from the '30s to modern times, curated by Ken Gross. Very well done with good audio guides and great lighting.

The Norman Timbs Special. I've always loved this car and it has a great presence in person...probably my favorite of the show. Sleek, low, and very, very long. I always thought the paint was a simple metallic maroon but it's a nice CAR with a good amount of gold flake. Just impressive as hell.

1951 Buick LeSabre, the famed Harley Earl studio designed concept car which became his daily driver. Very cool.
