Event Coverage Day one at Pendine Sands

bloody hell what a great time these guys have, thanks for the post its great , fellow aussies can you imagine trying to have that much fun in Australia the fun police guys would shut you down before it started no one had a safety vest on lol

 

Can't get the smile off my face! Both videos are tremendous! Have to ask whether there are any stock flathead cams left in the UK/Europe, because it sure doesn't sound like any are in use.

So much history there. I've always liked the dirt roosting off the tires.

 

Thanks Bob. Great pics. I had to keep parking near the start line because in the pursuit of speed I took off the generator and the fan belt. I had to start 'er up and get straight in line to go. Couldn't sit in a queue idling for too long. The exhaust system, lights and spreader bar also were discarded.

 

Great pics and videos. Thanks to all who took the time to share them with us. I'm amazed at the number of outstanding traditional hotrods there.

Thanks Mart! love this event,because of its intent to make or remake history,by recording their times,it couldn't help but put a competative spirit into it.that is good coverage at Carpy,s site,i was surprised to see how many cars only completed one of the three passes or how many speeds dropped off on second and third runs.Would love to see pics of the fastest cars matched to their times.Johnny

New car out - set himself a respectable record on the sand at 87.5mph. Overhead four banger.
