Amazing work, I have never seen a 57 bumper on this body style before, great job!.
Any way you can lower the front bumper to the same height as the rockers?

Thank you I appreciate it, yes you can lower it down but it would involve quite a bit more work.. I wanted to keep the original splash pan, I just cut it down some in front to let bumper slide right over it nicely.. Also if I lowered it the center bar would not match up very well.. I thought long and hard about which way to do it!!! Lol!!

 

The 57 bumper looks good , bet it won't be the last one we see.

So I got a little bit more done on the belair the past month or so!! Pulled body off for the last time hopefully.. Scraped all the freaking tar off, wow what a pain!!

Made a removable trans xmember..

Then broke the frame down, decided to make my front bag mounts attached to the upper frame mount!!


Time for some por15 and undercoat


Sent of my suspension parts for powder coating while they were gone I fixed all the rocker trouble I found when I scraped all the tar off bottom of car!!


Redid the trunk a little and got my trans tunnel started..


Got the powder coating back and I'll be assembling the car this week into next week!!

Haven't posted in a couple months!! Here is the progress!!
Got the rest of the frame put together and took it to a show for fun!!

Got the underside seam sealed and started the undercoat process!!

Filled the thousand holes on the firewall, also cut out and replaced passenger side of firewall.. Started a little body work on it also..

 

Alright once again I am back to show off a little progress on Ol Merlene!!

Got the dash and firewall painted in a white chocolate, with some gold pearl.. Painted some accessories and painted the motor..

Got the frame and body back together, also decided to build a wood floor in the trunk!!

More to come I am hoping to have it running in a couple weeks!!

 

I need motivation. Therefore I request an update. Love it so far!

Here is how Merlene sits now.. have gotten a lot done to her since the last post!! I have been driving her like crazy!!

 

Great job. Love what you've done with the vehicle. Looks a bit like Duane Steck's "Moonglow" '54 2dr.
