If it was easy everyone would be doing it.

And to think - a full transition to injection and a mechanical fuel pump would probably have cost me half as much as I've dumped down these carbs

Had a small rubbing issue with the big tires, have that taken care of. Went for a ride around the neighborhood
Push petal to the floor and it just jumps and goes.
I think I am ready for meltdown

    .
I will not be there until Friday night [ I have to work during the day]
Saturday I will be doing my part with MDA..
Sunday I will be ready ...

Scott , If you keep it running after the Oky Joker has it's way with you I would like to see if I can build your confidence back up.

"All Hacked Up" is getting some much needed power upgrade and attention... ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1435978811.288635.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1435978839.785751.jpg

So these little gems arrived today, courtesy of the incredibly talented Mr Ric Panneton.
Light as a feather, domes profiled to match the contours of my combustion chambers, these things are flat out works of art.
Thanks again Ric,not only for being an ace at designing and building pistons, but for being a great friend who has talked me through many a situation, some automotive related, and some a little more spiritual.
    Jeff:
If I was you,I would be doing a little less work on the Okie Doker, and devoting that time to practicing waving a white flag...;)

I got the AC working in my tow rig...now for the race car maintenance. Pulled the transmission pan, it looks normal for 4000 miles and a couple dozen runs. I think it'll last a little longer. I'd still like to go through it before I head out to Drag Week in September, though.

Girlfriend & I took 55' out for a 30 mile drive... All in All ran pretty good...! I'm going to check a couple plugs, see how they look... But I think it's Meltdown Ready...! Just have to tighten steering box a lil bit, forgot about that till I drove it... LOL had Jenni tell me we have to go back & pick her heart & stomach up! Got on it pretty hard that time, it was music to my ears...!

Went for a ride around the neighbor hood this weekend and had to do some tire clearance on the left tire. One of my friends stopped by early this morning and helped me chop on the hood so I can put on an air filter on the new engine. have a lot of fine tuning to do to the scoop, I think that will happen over the winter.

Hey A.J, did you get the HEMI back together? Otherwise Eric probably has a big bore 283 you can borrow....unless you don't want to go that fast.

As a matter of fact I did but my bank manager is telling me otherwise
Keep checking the flight prices every day but they're moving in the wrong direction I'm afraid and when you add car hire and motel it kinda kills it.
Got a couple more days to see if theres some last minute deals.
