    As an aussie, I'm gripped more by bewilderment & irony than patriotism. I guess this 60 x 90 cm painting, which was painted at the race, on race day, is as close to 'stars & bars' as I'm gonna get..

    Got this for Fathers Day from my Kids and Grandkids and thought I would share.
    The painting was done by my Nephew Dan May who is a professional artist. ( http://danmay.net/ )
    His Dad was my Brother Ralph who passed away in 2011 from Picks Disease. Ralph and I always built and enjoyed our cars together with our families. Ralph had a passion for the 38 Chevy and mine was for the 37 Chevy.
    In this painting called "Once Upon A Time" the 38 Chevy represents Dan's Dad and my Brother Ralph. The larger figure represents Dan and the smaller figure represents his young Son Max who was born after my Brother had passed.
    Ralph's Wife and I both noticed that the smaller figure was touching the car. Back in the 70's our Son finished a peanut butter sandwich and touched Uncle Ralph's Black Coupe. From then on Ralph would always told all the kids " no no don't touch the car you will leave finger prints".
