i stumbled across some near free body panels and snatched them up as they were destine for the dump. I am already neck deep in another project but these can sit in the attic until i die or want to do something with them. can anyone help me I.D what i have here? i am convinced that the cowl is off something different. thanks
30-31 A. Cowl piece is just the top skin of the gas tank. However, looks like with a cowl you might be able to put a body part way together. Worth saving for sure. Some one here will have a need for every piece of it!! Tim
1931 Ford Model A. 28-9 don't have the bead around the rear fender. Overheard a friend discussing that the early 31 gas cap is a threaded screw on and the late 31 is a quarter twist like this one.
thanks! the bad part about knowing what i have is the idea of finding a cowl and starting another project.. darn it!
30-31 Ford coupe. This is incorrect. 1928-9 are threaded screw on gas cap and 30-31 are quarter turn. The exception is the early 1930 commercial vehicles, which are essentially 29 trucks sold in early 30 until the new trucks were ready. These have the 28-9 style gas tank with the 30-31 style quarter turn cap bung.
The cowl is the easy part. Those quarters look damned solid and you got a deck lid too? I should be so lucky.
At least these parts are mostly flat and will sit out of the way pretty easy. The other option would be GREAT Trade/Sale parts to further your current project. & yes, 30/31.
