54 olds. Sitting in storage since 59. Still has 59 inspection sticker on it. Corners are starting to lift. Anyone know of anything I can apply to the back of it to restick. I realize I could put a piece of tape over the back but would like to keep as original as possible.

What about something like clear finger nail polish?

  4. That'll work. Rubber cement, contact cement, even 3M spray adhesive. Just use a small fine point brush. Hold the glued edge until bonded. Good luck.

How about the clear sticky plastic stuff used to laminate cards etc? Just put it over the sticker with 1/4" bigger to stick to the glass.

No that's the thing I don't want to pull it off/ don't want to put tape on back of it or get a new one. I was hoping Someone would know of something that could be applied evenly to the back of it that would absorb through the paper and when pressed flush would cause it to adhere.

those ussually has a medium density adhesive so they will stick but peel off easily , sometimes paint thinner will reactivate the adhesive where it dried out . but not knowing what type they actually used its a crap shoot , If it was me I would use wide clear packing tape across the whole thing and trim it closely at the edges to help protect it .

  11. I've used Elmers glue on paper window stickers. Thin with a little water if needed and brush it on.
You can wet the sticker slightly before the glue goes on.

I used to remove old registration (Licensing) labels years ago when we swapped damaged windshields and placed the label on the new screen. The labels were similar water decals and not vinyl. A few layers of folded up newspaper soaked in water and laid against the label would soften the adhesive sufficiently to allow the label to peel off after a period of time and allow it to be affixed to new windshield.

Being a girl I would say some of the nail glues work great.

Smash a bug in there. Nothing sticks to a windshield like bugs.

Wow, the baddest avatar on the HAMB belongs to a girl. :)
