Looking for information on an Edelbrock dual carb intake manifold. Is it old speed equipment is it obsolete compared to the Edmunds? Why isn't there any information on the interwebs about it, etc. I don't know whether to use it, display it, or sell it.

    Thanks

  2. Block lettering means that it is old. I believe they changed to script logo in 1953.

If it's any help, it came off a '46 Lincoln coupe that seems to have been 'improved' in the 50's....then left to rot. I was considering putting it on my '41 Continental and have mixed responses from the 'V-12 community'. If it's a vintage Speed Part or Hot Rod item, this might be a better place to discuss it.

I know nothing about it. I thought only Edmunds made stuff for the Lincoln V12 back in the day. But I do know this. If I had a '41 Continental, it would be bolted to the top of that engine right away. No way is that thing going on the wall or flea-bay.

I think Edelbrock switched to the script logo about 1950. I've seen block letter logos in 1949 magazines, but not much later than that.

The block letter heads for 1949-53 Fords are VERY RARE.

But, then there is the Edelbrock Super. They have always had a block letter logo. Never switched to script on them, and they are still made that way today.

Maybe your low-production V-12 intake could be the same. Why make a new pattern for a part you only sell a dozen of.

In the last couple of days I've heard a lot of 'information'! Glad to listen to all of it. Everything from it's priceless to worthless, bolt it on now, to it will destroy your engine! I even called Edelbrock, who told me it had to be a pre-1950 part based on their own catalogs. No one has ever said that it might have been a dealer installed option, but I hardly doubt it as far back as 1941. My understanding is that in the period, if you had the money there wasn't much the dealer wouldn't put on! Thanks for the input.

On a visit to L.a. i was lucky to be introduced to Alan Mest to purchase some Lincoln parts. He runs a 7000sq ft repair restoration business and specialises in lincolns. At the time he,d just finished building a lincoln v12 for fooses 32 roadster.
I was lucky to be given a tour of his cars one being a 41 lincoln continental that was fitted with the same intake you have, and that is were that info first came from, the second place was on flaebay when a n.o.s intake came up for sale.
One thing is right know a dealer would certainly bend over backwards to help a customer, regardless beautiful intake worth good money, and i,d love to have and run one johnny

I think you should run it, it would look better than the 4bbl on the Hot Rod Lincoln.

Very nice. Patina is already there or polish, but it's difficult to get that original look back. I'd just clean it.

V12 intakes are pretty hard to come by. I paid way to much for my Edmonds 2 carb.

Yep had been lookin for an affordable one for years, settled on a very well made, home made tri carb manifold for a third the cost of what both the originals and new intakes go for! The money saved there went into some hogan heads ,johnny oh and further up in this thread I ment the intakes may of been offered at servicing ect.. Not in 41. , I can see that wasn't clear after retreading it
