Event Coverage 2015 BACK TO THE 50's, ST. PAUL, MINNESOTA JUNE 19, 20, 21

picked up my reregistration last night and have the sticker in the window. looking forward to Friday

 

Went to registration today, which was more like a fluid car show. Hot rods were cycling through the host hotel picking up their registration packets. The weather is beautiful and there were many cars to enjoy. I took a lot of photos but they are slow to load into photobucket.
Here are a few. I'm heading to a cruise-in this evening and packing the cars for tomorrow morning. I'll try and post some more photos later.

Jalopy Joker, I will. I have many more photos from Thursdsy Registration as well as the cruise-in from last night. Today is the first day of the show and I plan on taking many more. This show is amazing, there's no shortage of traditional style hot rods, gassers, and awesome customs.

It's 3:15 am and for some crazy ass reason I'm awake . We're heading to the show to get in line before the gates open. With 12,000 hot rods entering the fairgrounds at once it gets kinda interesting.

 

Guess it's about time to quit messing around on the HAMB and get on the road.

 

Just saw on the Weather Channel high winds are forecasted for the Minneapolis/ST. Paul area. Watch out for flying tents.

I got my International the show. First time it has moved since the 70s.

 

The red roadster from Texas is mine. The black one belongs to a friend from The San Antonio area.

 

Went to registration and got signed in.My number is 11,864 and there were people filling out forms behind me.

Hey Moriarity, it was awesome meeting you at the Minnetonka Drive-in. Thanks for letting my son sit on your vintage 1969 Schwinn. He loved it! Here is a photo from the cruise-in we attended Thursday evening before Back To The 50's. I met up with HAMBer Moriarity. What an outstanding guy and a true hot rodder. Thanks for the invite to see all your vintage memorabilia. I will definitely take you up on the offer next time.

I made it! There and back home. What a great day. I met 1927graham, and I saw a couple of HAMBer's cars (frozenmerc). Excellent weather, good food, great cars! Here's my car parked on Cooper street. See y'all Saturday and Sunday.
PS - I walked 8.62 miles and took 21,048 steps today and maybe viewed 1/3? of the cars. Insane.

Thursday Evening Cruise-In Minnetonka Drive-in

So this photo means a lot to me. The green 1969 Ford XL is off topic for the HAMB, I know. My 95 year old grandmother and grandfather, Harley purchased this car new back in '69. My grandmother gave the car to my brother and he has been making it road worthy over the past 6 months. Thursday evening he loaded his family in the car for a night of fun. My parents took my two little kiddos in their 40 Ford Sedan, and my wife and I hopped in my Model A Coupe. What a great night, enjoying our old cars and spending time as a family. We are blessed!


My father ditched the Wide White Walls for some new black walls on his '40. I love the new look....Sinister!
