I just picked up a 51 Shoebox. I'm going to run aerostar springs with fatman drop spindles in the front and 4 inch blocks and shackle in the rear. From what I have read I can run 670 bias with 15x6 wheels with 4.50 back spacing with no rubbing. I want to run the crager 69 deluxe but can only find them in 3.50 back spacing, will these work? I havn't been able to find any hard numbers or wheel and tire combo that will work with this setup. Pics are a huge plus!

    Thanks in advance. ford.jpg ford2.jpg

Since nobody had any answers for me on tire combos, I want wit 670 bias, 15x5 with 3 and 1/4 back spacing. Hope this works. Now lets see if anyone can answer this for me. How low can I go in the rear without cutting the driveline tunnel?

Cars look great guys! Thank you for all the reply's and pics they are helping out a lot.

  14. Welp, I used 4" blocks on mine and had to C the rear body crossmember a bit to clear the driveshaft . I also had to raise the hump but I'd raised the engine/trans to clear the tie rod. It was worth the effort. rockybox2.jpg

What did you end up doing in the front? Your car appears to be lower in the front than just the Aerostar springs.

  19. Much better! Now, I'd have to lose the mooneyes decal, V/8 emblem etc etc on the fenders as it draws your eye away from the rest of the car.
In fact, I'd have to paint the car all one color. I've always wanted one like yours in the factory 1950 tan color with your wheels and tires...very subtle but effective.

Not trying to hijack your post but do you have 2 inch wide leafs in the back? And if so what did you do or where did you get the four inch blocks all the ones I have found say they won't work with springs that narrow.. Again sorry to hijack the post. Thanks.

Thanks for all the comments. Its gonna be my driver till I can up some money for paint and interior.

the car was originally brown and white.the blue has metal flake in it, cant really tell from the pics but it will have to do for now. Thinking going like white, green maybe some brown in there.

Shoebox central is where I got the lowering blocks and few other parts

I also did the fatman dropped uprights with the aerostar springs

Wheelvintiqes series 20 15x5 but the enter cap is 8 1/4. So if you want to run traditional 7 1/2 need to run the series 12 I believe
