Re post 205. Love it. Who needs a spare wheel, when you can have a bicycle in there? If you have a flat.....just leave the car on the side of the road and pedal home!

It is a restoration first off but we replaced the original 32 block that was cracked with a 33 block and a now transmission last year the car really runs well now and it will set you back in the seats when you get on it. I have been doing quite few small projects on it also. My main focus has been a 37 Buick roadmaster 4 door convertible that is getting a frame off and getting a survivor 34 Buick series 57 on the road this car is amazing 45 thousand mile care that is pretty much original . also have two 37 ford fordoors and were starting to look for vintage speed parts for it I am really new to flathead motors so I spend a lot of time reading here. I am a restorer for over 50 years but I love all cars and I love the creativity and craftsmanship of this group the most. It is quite liberating to do what you want and not have a book tell you how to put a car together and what color to paint it. The phot is of the barn a couple of years ago have since started in earnest on the green car eddies rod shop in cedar rapids iowa is doing the body IMG_20131214_161917.jpg

I found this at Rhinebek swap meet this spring. There is not a brand name on it. It's the only driver side one I have ever seen with a twist like the passenger side one to fit the generator inside with a "32" closed hood. The standard ones that they sell now are for a 59 head , stand the generator straight out parallel with the head, no twist. As you can see I have mine is mocked up to clear the water outlet neck, this will be replaced with spacers and longer bolts.
You can use the Offenhausen one that's available, just shim it out. Unfortunately you will out be able to close the side hood covers. I even have an original SCoT generator mount and that one mounts to low to close the side covers in a "32" also.
I will PM you on a homemade bracket that is for sale, that might work for your application.

These are the standard ones they sell now. Mine has a twist in it to get the generator standing up straight instead of parallel with the head. You can use these if you shim them out to clear the water outlet on a 8ba, but you can't shut the side hood on a "32"
Sorry if we hijacked the thread.

image.jpg image.jpg Here are 2 I hope to take to Good Guys Columbus this year. The original paint black car still has it's original banger.

  13. Looks great Kurt! When you get it back together you'll have to pose like that other great pic when it was in bare metal.

With more than I little regret, I sold my 3w gasser last year but the car was such that to make many updates to the car would basically have destroyed what made it so unique so I let it go.
Yesterday, I DROVE home my new three window; leaving with only 10 miles on the odometer! The guy said it would do it and he was right! Actually, he'd have the car since 1972 and rebuilt/updated it over the years and had just completed a two year rebuild. Still needs an interior and sorting out of a few items but overall it is a winner to me.
Of course, the Boyds wheels and a bunch of other billet items speaks to the era or the original major build and I plan to revamp the car to bring it more into line with current trends. I'm thinking dark center Americans and some new mirrors; maybe a return to bumpers and stock taillights.
Please feel free to share your views but understand that I'm like most of y'all who appreciate the ideas of others but will most likely in the end do what I want to!!;)
    Anyway, here it is.
    IMG_0951.JPG
The paint actually matches much better than it appears in the picture. I'm guessing the different angles of the body and what they were reflecting had something to do with it. The metallic in the paint really pops in the sun!
I drove over 300 miles home... a longggggg day!
Back in the 3W club again,
    Al
