Nice. My wife does not even drive but enjoys car events, cruising, wandering junk yards, and bringing me food and drink to the garage. She's even gone up to accept my trophies. I often wonder how guys live without non car loving wives. Nice to have a trophy wife!
I'm blessed. Young wife was a customer, took interest in my shop (and me) learned VW engine assembly and chassis fab, we worked my shop for 8 years. Now we are still into it, (have a home shop) she works a full time career in transportation management and works on hot rods with me after hours and weekends. Wouldn't trade her for a Deuce collection.
You said it brother,I have a couple of car buddys that their wives hate old cars, they won't go with them to shows or cruse in's and always plan THEIR yard sales when they know these guys want to go somewhere with the rest of the club. I am one of the fortunate ones,as Deuce Roadster use to say,"I think Brenda likes old cars better than Danny!" . HRP
HRP: That's a scary quote. LOL Wife Joey and I go to Billetproof up North of us, and we walk around...lots of the guys talk to her, sometimes strangers. One guy had a nice '32 Brookville bodied Hiboy, 8BA flathead. She was looking it over, and the guy says, "Ever see a 400 cubic inch flathead?" (she had, albeit not in the 59AB or 8BA lines; she has built more than a few of the latter in my shop, is closely acquainted with their specs/values) He went on to say "This one's got a 4 and a half inch bore." She looked at it, then asked, "Are the head bolts half-sleeved, or just hanging in the bores?" His friends all gave him the belly laugh, some of them said, "Boy, she saw you comin'! Let us buy you a beer, little lady!" She answered, "No thanks...you boys might tell another fib!" I was insecure enough to stay within earshot...those guys sounded pretty 'fast'.. LOL All in good humor, but they were surprised.
Congrats! It's always a good feeling, when a person is acknowledged for their hard work. Great looking sedan. So........ that makes her a REAL trophy queen. Right?
