Short video of mine, updated with new www tires, hood was off in the video because I had just finished adding a electric 6v booster fuel pump.

Its always been tempting but its military housing lol. I currently have it listed for sale but for some reason it was moved in the wanted section, but the more I drive it the less and less I feel like parting with it most the time.

I know this is an older post but do you have script "plymouth" for '50 hood? I just need the "H". Thanks Brian.

I'm thinking I want something with a little more pep so might be going with a small block mopar. The motor and tranny only have about 1k miles on a rebuild so if I do pull it I'll make sure it goes to a good home, hopefully another hamber!
I'm not really to sure as to what I'm gonna do to it yet. I will make a build thread as soon as I start on it!

  19. Well, I finally got the Desoto back from the interior shop, and off the jack stands after doing the disc brakes and multiple other small things. Now I need to get the rear bumper back on. I put about 20 trust miles on her this weekend just driving around the neighborhood. Once Spring comes I will mount the WW on these tan wheels. Nice to be driving her again. Forgot how fun it is. 102714.jpg

Do you have to get a over-length permit to drive that thing? Where do you park it, at the airport in a hanger? Gorgeous car that has to demand attention.

UPDATE AS OF May, 31 ,2015
It has been my grandsons classroom for Old School Hot Rodding.
He stays busy during school months but we get some good time in the Summer months.

Getting close to having all the door, trunk and hood gaps aligned and surface matched.
Block Block Block, allot of Block sanding... Body will be Spies Hecker Blue Black (Black Black) and the interior will be all Viper Red. I am now 68. My car in High School was a 1953 Plymouth Coupe like this one. Yes I know it has a face only it's mother can love in most eyes. I was going to put my Hemi in my 53 Plymouth Coupe in 1964 but I ended up buying a 1946 Ford Coupe for 40.00 back then and it was neater and simpler. In 2009 I went looking for a 1946 Ford Coupe for the Hemi Paul and I had built. Basket cases were all I found and they were just too expensive. I purchased this 53 coupe for 300.00 and decided, what the hell, I wanted to do this when I was in High School. Never too late to pursue a childhood dream, even at 68.

I have found all the trim that I am using on the car NOS with the exception of Bumpers and windshield wiper towers.

The best part has been watching my grandson grow in his skills. He will do a great job on the 1940 Ford re-do I'm sure.

We doing this a while. Paul is now 15 and now has many skills.

I like this. I wanted to chop my 53 top but I was not sure I could pull it off. Like the windows. Makes the car look longer.

  28. Here's a pic of my 1950 Dodge Wayfarer business coupe, I think I posted her way back when I first got her and she looks a little different now.

His is a wonderful thread for me as my first car in 1964 was a '51 Plymouth Cranbrook I bought from an aunt while in college. I was always a car nut and got what little I could afford to spruce it up a bit ... fake mag hubcaps and black seat covers from JC Whitney. I was a scale model car builder back then so I dyed all the interior black and masked and painted the dash gloss black. I never had room or the time to do any real work on 1:1 scale cars so all my car passion has been scale models. I have almost every car I've owned sitting on the shelf above me.
Here's what few photos I have of my '51 ..

Now, there are no model kits of '51 Plymouths but I did find a resin body of a '50 Plymouth that I'll have to do the bodywork on to convert it to a '51. There are many subtle changes although I've never located a listing of exactly how all the body panels were changed. Many of the photos posted in this thread will be helpful to me and I thank all for posting them!

This is a bit off topic I know, bu there's some photos of the scale model body I'll be using and my progress an the engine from a '41 Plymouth model kit I'm converting to my '51 L-Head ...

Here's my 51 Plymouth Cranbrook Belvedere Hardtop. All original at this point and so far planning to keeping it that way although I love seeing the work of others on here and what these can become.
