trying to find a way to get more room for a oil pan could a guy swap the front axle around so the tie rods are in front of the axle instead of behind it, I'm have to swap front axle to do disk brakes so and redoing the steering box to power anyway so this would be the time to do it it is on a 2r10 Studebaker 2r10 pickup 3/4 ton
I will not have much oil in the pan if I go to much ... the biggest problem is the cross steering arm the oil has to sit 3/4 below the top of the pan
I do not knoe what a 2R10 is but I'm guessing a truck.. I helped put an S-10 clip under a 50 car in an afternoon 7 or 8 yrs ago. easy swap an it has all your needs. Disc brakes , power steering , ect.
1200 pounds?!?! What are you putting in it, a tank engine? The short answer to your question is, no. It will screw up your Ackerman. With an engine that weighs over half a ton, it isn't going to handle like a slot car. No point in making it worse.
