Well, for 5.1/2 years i have been collecting parts and ideas to my 1936 Ford Roadster. finally it´s time to start building it. Bought a project car in Norway 2009. it was a streetrod-project, chevy SB with an th350 and a Ford 8" rearend in paralell leafs, plus a Mustang II Frontend. Not what i wanted, so i bought it without the driveline. Most of the Roadster-parts was there but some was eaten up by rust, some quite good parts from a 5W come in the deal. Kids plus a house-build came between, and with that came lack of both time and money. last winter/spring i started working on the parts for an upcoming car-show. and it felt great. i got a kick in the ass to finally start working on the project. just what i needed Here is a mock up with cowl and floorpans. Crossmember raised a few inches
Looks good so far. Looking forward to following your build - at some point I would like to get a 36 roadster.
Mr Swedeshoebox...Do I recognize those "B" pillar braces???? I sent a pair to Sweden some time back. was it you that purchased them from me....Your project looks like you are doing it correctly from the start.
An early mock up get some motivation, Packard 1941 dash. need to cut it alot to get it in there, have to cut some more to get it sitting higher up. Frame primered and after that a filler, plus sanding again Nuts, bolts,Washers and brackets back from surface treatment. ofcourse restored old Ford parts.
Yes it´s your old brackets, and here you see your old shock mounts They ended up in satin black paint
Hello, I noticed that you installed a new floor. Who's floor did you use, and are you happy with the fit? I need to install a new floor in my '36 Roadster also. Thanks!
The Floorpans are from Paul Bradley. nice parts. long deliverytime but definitely worth waiting for. Made a new tunnel and raised it about an inch at rear. Rockers are Mc´pherson. also nice.they where almost like stock. But now they are! have to make a tool to press some relives it them. Assembly of the chassies begins. Cowl welded and welded plus some more weld still some more work to do on cowl, but this is how far i got before the show
I understand you miss your Roadster! but some of the parts from it will be back on the road on this car! As i wrote the plan was to show the chassies on a show, and to show that i not plan to build a Stock or Streetrod i let Janne Kutja do a drawing of the design i wanted with the parts i have or plan to use. here is the display we did, Me and Janne!
