  3. Thats cool old school flame job looks great

  4. I think the same as you, use the same parts as the make! 360 better and bigger better!

  5. Anyone looking for parts, I know where a 58 and 59 are and a 56 cab big Window. I am in Canada, in saskatchewan!

  6. That is the right frame to put it on because it puts tires right in the fender wells. The regular 1/2 ton frame the tires are farther out and don't look right!

I had a craving for this one, for the longest time.
I saw a movie on YouTube, with a full fleet of those truck, but short wheel base Dump Trucks. All running 5speed and Perkins Diesel straight six.

This is 5ton load, 8.3ton total weight. Long with a fixed bed. Barn find. That runs, drives and has MOT.

We call them Dodge Fargo Perkins/5.
    Assembelt in the UK.

I thought I would add these two 1959 d100 to this thread. I bought these in a group of cars and don't have the funds to fix and keep everything that I buy. These are for sale. I have around 30 pics of these trucks.

Sorta on the home stretch of the bed, tailgate, rollpan part of the project. Tailgate is fully functional with no latches or handle for a clean "sanitary" look. Should have a video up on the tailgate build on our youtube in a few weeks.

Nice find. It would look great with just a paint job. What are your plans?

We might just leave it as is. I have wide white walls coming for it , but besides that it's a cool truck to kick around . We didn't want to hop into a resto just yet, as it is a good driver .

Nice project. I was watching your build on 'that' truck forum and was hoping you would reappear somewhere.

I need outer door handles. I'm building a 64 town panel but it seems like they use same parts for many years on pick-ups panels etc. Any one have some they want to get rid of or have a source for new or reproduction?

  22. My 1957 Town Panel. - built on 88 dakota frame with a 360 with some performance parts.

Not having alot of fun trying to get it titled here in PA. But since I plan on owning it the rest of my life..... I guess I got the time to make it happen.

Does anyone have info on frame swap on 57 D100 long bed 114 wheel base? Looking at a 72-80 short bed frame 115 wheel base that has A arm front suspension .

  25. Curious why you are looking to swap frames?

Looking at swapping frames because upgraded suspension, brakes , Frame mount for engine mounts V-8. Fram Frame mount for engine mounts V-8. My current engine L6 - 230 leaking head, I want updated suspension and braking system because I don't trust my wife driving with four wheel drum brakes. Also it makes more sense to have it driving sooner

  27. Some of the challenges I'm aware of with a full size frame is I'm pretty sure the track width is too wide, the kick up at the rear is way bigger, so be prepared to fabricate a new box floor. Personally, there are disk brake kits available for the straight axle and an engine swap is way less work than swapping frames but either way, good luck with your build

Any thing past 1960 D100s will not work or will look goofy with the wheels sticking way out. Dodge widened the track width(so did all the other makes too.) A Dakota frame would be your best bet. I agree with the frame swap I'm looking to do the same to mine. there are just too many disadvantages to the old frame; Suspension, steering gearbox, brakes, axles all just about impossible to get parts for anymore and are not safe to drive in todays transit system something I've learned first hand in the last few years with my 57 being my daily driver. the stop lights are not timed with these old drum brakes in mind. steering parts are extinct with mine having a lot of play it makes sense. updating the old 8.75 tapered bearing style rear ends is a must. Mine is now a 8.75 from a 69 roadrunner with a sure-grip. some people have made S10 frames work but thats something I don't believe in doing to these trucks. as Ive said before.
