Yup, I glommed onto that real quick too.

  5. I had to think twice, but I still pulled the trigger. I'll eventually spend that much on car magazines anyway, might as well get the good stuff.

Called them and got one. Had to try a couple times to get through. They said the website is just bogged down because of so many orders.

Did you call? It said sold out on the site, but they said its just because of all of the traffic on there. They still had some at the time I called.

All sold out as of 11:51 AM central time. I tried several times to call and just could not get through. Congrats to those who got in on the dealio!

  12. Yup, I was not the sharpest tool in the shed and left a message.

When I finally did call back and get through, they confirmed that they were sold out...

Yes, I called. They were sold out. I missed it by 5 or 10 minutes. Maybe they'll do that again in 10 years!

    Hi guys,

Yes, we are in fact SOLD OUT!

We want to thank all of you who jumped on board and took us up on this offer. Unfortunately, that is all the time we have to respond right now, as the phones are still ringing off the hook and we need to process all of the orders.

Thanks again, we'll post more info soon.

As my ol' buddy Phil used to say "Think long, think wrong". Got the email at 5:01 Central and decided to mull it over.
I mulled myself out of a great deal.

Congrats to all that made the cut. TRJ is the leader in the field and I wish a long publication run!

I was lucky enough to get my order in before they sold out. I recall seeing Steve Coonan's '32 roadster for sale in the classifieds recently and I believe he stated his reason for putting it up for sale was to raise some additional capital for some new opportunities with his business. I'm just assuming this offer is being made for the same reason. Sounds like creative thinking to me. As I posted above, I've never had a reason to question the integrity of the folks behind The Rodder's Journal and I'm not going to start now. Like many, I believe they put out the best hot rod periodical ever as well as some incredible books and other items. I think TRJ is the exception that proves the rule when it comes to the idea that print is dead. I think there will always be a demand for quality periodicals like TRJ where the passion shows in every issue. Count me as a longtime fan/subscriber and now a lifetime subscriber.

Hey how about publishing some of this shit in the evening when the working stiffs are home and accessing the computer. Seems like everything comes out earlier in the day. Same crap with the shift knobs!

Pretty slick way to raise $100K of debt-free capital in under 2 hours. I snagged one too and am looking forward to the next 20 years of TRJ, in whatever format it evolves into.
