Nothing wrong with painted bumpers if the right paint scheme... Your car, so go with what you like....Talk is cheap, chrome is expensive...you can always change bumpers in the future...
And yes I have black bumpers and trim on mine.

No. the contrast is too much. It was a huge trend in the '80s'-'90's and will date the car.

ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1426694824.725242.jpg i painted the bumpers on this one, of course they were fiberglass and the car had a blown small block,it worked for this car, but I'm a fan of chrome.

]Since you asked for pictures, here is one of my favorites (yeah, I know it's a repro, still pretty though)./QUOTE]
It looks to be in the gasser tradition, what's "repro" about it?
Just in case there are some here that don't know their 57 Chevy's; that's a pretty rare 210 2 dr. ht.(non Bel Air).
    As traffic61 said it's a beauty.

The body is a new all metal reproduction body served up by Woody's. Kinda like a Brookville for '57's. Some folks are not too keen on them. Me, I dig it. The first '57 that I ever drove was a buddy's 210 two door hardtop many moons ago. If I had the scratch, I'd have these guys build one for me.

  6. The Woody's car is a newly manufactured body on their frame. It's beautiful. The white underside is cool.

if you want bumpers, i have two fronts, one sedan-hardtop rear, and one wagon rear. they all are presentable but could use chroming. pm me and i will let them go cheap. btw- rustoleum satin black w/ 5% mineral spirits squirted through cheapo spray gun. good results but had to wait about 20hrs for it to dry!

    OK--Here's my high school car 1971 57 belair 001.jpg

  11. Easy fellow, TMI.
This shot isn't much better than the first showing the 1/4 panel details. What I did was paint the insert, then sanded the high spots so that only the grooves were covered. I also painted the 1/4 script since I removed all of the other "gold" trim pieces. The car is a Belair, but the trim removal and dash give it a 210 vibe.

My pop's helped to buy and restore this car when I was in high school, 1975.

I've had all the tri-fives---the '56 was a Nomad. There is not ONE car pictured in this thread I wouldn't own. Painted bumpers or not-- I've had a love affair since late '54 when my Dad bought a new '55 with a 265.

I`m with this one except that I don't want chrome bumpers at all ! I see a 57 with a fiberglass rear bumper painted or a painted steel one to resemble the look and no front bumper as the ONLY way for me. I would rather not have my 57 than to have a front bumper.
