As you can see we need a full frame off .
She needs all new floor boards and braces, inner and outer rocker panels also a piece of the trunk floor .
I started by ording these things and they are on there way, once they get here i'll be ok for a while .
Btw she will be having a V8 set up..

  4. Those photos were a trip down memory lane. Your car may indeed be a 210 model.

Trim level 150 is lowest,210 middle, Belair has most trim, yours does appear to be a 210
(no wide stainless trim around side windows) Look at your vin number, if it starts with A it would be a 150, B=210 or C it would be a belair, If it starts with a V in front of those letters it would be a V8 car but I would say, more than likely it is an original 6
...........sierra gold and adobe beige you have is my favorite color 57

  7. Sorry - As a tri 5 geek, I had to point it out.
    Te 1957 Chevrolet models were:
150 Base model, short side trim, no stainless under side windows.

210 Middle trim package, full length side stainless, SHORT quarter crown, small piece of stainless under side windows, small rare dash trim. Like mine in avatar.

Bel Air Top trim package, crown stainless is long, almost to rear window, Side windows framed in stainless, gold colored grill and fender gills, Stainless inserts in dash and quarter trim.

Let's see your cowl tag, and we can figure out what you have. The 6 cyl hood has a different sized script, keep that in mind if you plan to add the hood "vee".

  8. Although a complete body can be had, there are still pieces that cannot be bought. Save everything!! The window fuzzies way down inside the channel have a sheet metal bracket/clip thing the new parts lack. The dash trim is unavailable, very flimsy and hard to find used. I have several and only one is good enough to put on my car.

    57-1011=series B model 210= 2 door sedan 55 to 57
Body no M=body was made in Baltimore, Maryland then number is production number at fisher body plant.
Trim 654=Ivory vinyl w/charcoal pattern cloth
Paint=817=india ivory top and Canyon coral lower
Canyon coral is a pink looking color from pics Ive seen, sierra gold and adobe beige is 818
someone may have painted it that color or someone may have swaped the cowl tag
(which is common I think ?) so a guy can get the matching cowl tag paint combo or interior they want for their car, You use to be able to buy the cowl tag on ebay, not sure now, Its the Vin you arent suppose to change. I guess its OK to change the cowl ID???
Got my info from a old Danchuk catologue.

  20. Low Budget beat me to it!
One thing - the M is not for the plant where it was made. The location of the plant code is the 4th digit in the vin plate on the door frame. Baltimore, Maryland was represented with a "B". "M" is not a letter that indicates any plant.

Yes the M on the cowl tag only signifies which fisher body plant produced the body
    M=Baltimore Maryland

  23. Great project! There is no mistaking a 57 Chevy passing by....

  24. Ok, gotcha. Went and found my own cowl tag. "M" also! The car was built in Balto. Always good to learn, thanks!

The windshield frames don't look bad at all.

This is the front gutter theres about 10" missing
    [IMG]

This is the rear one a few holes here and there.

The wooden crate is going to store all the glass.
