    Fuuuck!....

That chassis not being boxed may have helped ? Crumple zones?

I saw it up close and personal and it was worse than the pictures showed.

When I saw it the first time I said something I thought I would never say. "I am so glad he did NOT box that frame."

If the frame had been boxed the steering would not have moved out of the way, the frame buckled at the box and that allowed Scott to push the wheel and column flush against the windshield.

I also saw the xrays of his legs, there is more hardware in there than it takes to put together most cars.

Glad both of you are getting rebuilt, that dash photo is the worst. If both doors are good maybe finding a good doorless cab would be the faster was to get things rebuilt. Bob

It looks like most of your metal can be straightened. I was given a Model A fender that met a telephone pole and used it to teach a young guy how to straighten it. I told him that Henry took a flat sheet and made it look like a fender or door. After a wreck it looks like a dented fender but its still a piece of metal that can be bent to look like a fender with no dent.
Indian spelled it as one word with no 'R'. Motocycle

Wow , that's some serious ugly to peel off !! Glad you're still on the green side of the grass after an accident like that. Good to see you're up and going , and ambitious enough to start rebuilding that cool old truck. Good luck with the (re)build.

Scott.....It was good to see you out at the Torquefest. Glad to hear that you'll be fixing the 33. Hope that it doesn't take as long as my truck, though. Next year will be 20 years since my 55 Cameo was totaled.....And I still don't have it done.:eek::eek:

I'm glad you're okay. God speed to you & the truck.
Is the driveline salvageable or is it time for a new motor & trans?

Glad to see this truck being fixed. I always liked the 28-9 front fenders on it, are ya gonna put them back on?

With all the artists on the HAMB someone must be able to draw a cartoon of this shot of the truck on crutches. Best of luck with your recoveries. Bob

Thanks everyone. As for what the plan is for the rebuild I am not sure. Either an A chassis with fenders again or 32 with no fenders. Not sure if motor is OK yet. Transmission is broken into a few pieces. Motor out and front axle assembly out.

Wow, isn't it supposed to start looking better when you take bent/broken shit off it?? That looks way worse than I remember.

Good luck to you and the truck. Looks like a lot of work ahead. But both of you will mend and be as good as before.

  21. I'm glad to see you are able to start working on your truck ,it's much more mentally therapeutic for the hot rod guy that what is offered by the professional therapist working on the body.

Having survived a serious motorcycle accident in 1974 and still carrying enough screws, bars and plates and was in a full leg cast for a solid year,I can sympathize with half of what your going through.

I too was rebuilding my bike on crutches.

I seem to remember your girl friend was also injured, how is she doing? HRP

  23. m-ville cruz nites 15.jpg as far as club members helping, I think Scott wanted to tear his truck apart himself for therapy; ..many of us club members need therapy also but probly not this kind!
...here's a flyer I drew up for some cruz nites,...maybe Scott will build his truck like this.

My friend Kathy was able to get back to work in December. She has been on the look out for a coupe or truck. Russco and youngrodder have found her an A coupe yesterday I heard. :).

We got the cab off the chassis. Passenger door seems to be twisted pretty good. The cab kinda went back after it was pulled off wrecked frame. Hopefully we will start working on cab to get it straightened soon.
