Congratulations to him. I've been trying to tell anyone who will listen "Look at the stockers and super stockers do" To many guys ask on here "what motor" what cam" "is this 283 good" "307 are junk" people are too lazy and don't want to do the homework. "Buy a 383 sbc" "put 2.02 heads on it" etc. these are the standard answers. These stock guys and SS guys could make a brick fly and all because what was said previously "perserverance and dedication. They did their homework. Pat
If I remember right the rules are that the block and heads can't be dated newer than the car. For stock class NHRA. So he has to find the correct stuff every time he launches a motor.
Beautiful Nomad. Yes Stk and SS are tough classes. Helped my buddy on his 55/ 265 SS/P years ago. The tri fives are only allowed 3 sp trany's.
when we ran a ss/pa we even took the rocker arms off as so the springs would not be held open between sundays....tricks and pampering, lots of em.
Randalls 56 runs the 270 horse combo that has two Carter AFB's on a sheet metal intake. SS is allowed any intake as long as it's of the original configuration. The rear gear has been as steep as 7:17 at Denver. Randall and Ron are very nice guys to talk with and race against. I think Rons 57 is still for sale. BENT
