Good news! The motion we worked on with Councilman Buscaino (CD15) was approved by the Public Safety Committee this morning. Stay safe. Keep it legal. ‪http://www.lastreetlegal.org

This basically means the city will analyze the costs related to illegal street racing with cops, emergency vehicles etc. to determine if a legal race event can be held on city property, with the proper permits and insurances.

LA is also proposing to impound and possibly destroy vehicles taken as a result of illegal street racing.

 

The major automotive companies should have stepped up to the plate and bought the current Irwindale Speedway. The corporate bean counters have other ideas. It's called the bottom line. The mega-companies don't want to have anything in the accounting books that could be called a "Non-Revenue Producing Asset".
