I've been looking for used 1949 - 1950 Pontiac side spears for some time, but haven't found a set in restorable condition. Do someone make them new? Have been looking online, but it's surprisingly difficult to find parts for old Ponchos...

  2. I looked on eBay and saw a few trim pieces.......not real cheap. Is any of your trim
usable if it were straightened and polished by a person who does that sort of work?
Is there any vendor who specializes in parts for your model car? (I'm sure you being
in Finland does not complicate your search. lol)

  3. Is your project a 2 door or 4 door? I'm doing a 2 door sedan and have accumulated some 4 dr trim parts, I'll need to look and see what I've got. As far as I know, nobody does repro trim for these cars.

My project is a 2-door Chevy sedan. It's a very mild very early 50's style custom. I don't have any trim pieces yet. I know I'd have to shorten the front most piece. Other than that, they should fit pretty easily.

But maybe it would be better idea to figure out something else. I think I could design and fabricate some kind of trim myself, for example from a stainless flat bar...
