A picture of my dad's '40 that was his primary form of transportation when he was younger. It's been sitting in our garage for the past 24-ish years because of work, time, money, kids, etc. He's finally getting around to working on it again. This picture was the last time he was able to work on it, which was 2007. Still has it's 351C in it.

That's the plan. He's 61 years old now and still working full time, so who know when it'll be though. He tells me that once he finishes one of his current jobs he's buying a blown stroker crate motor and pulling out the Cleveland.

The longer he takes, the faster my Fairlane get's, so my old man better hurry up or I'll be dustin him off at the track!

He's got his eye on a 383 from an East Coast builder that we see at Carlisle every year.

Should look something like this. Period correct? Nahhh. Fun as heck? YESSIR

I know it's belly button crap but I sure like my 40 Standard coupe with a snotty little 327 with 350 turbo and an 8 inch rear on parallel leafs. Dropped front axle with power disc front brakes. Almost no sheet metal or frame mods. Mine has everything bolted in. Really a pleasure to drive. But that said I understand your need for change.

OP hasn't been on the board in over three years. Hopefully the car is still safe on it's original frame...
