MC1.JPG MC4.JPG MC6.JPG This is the leaking MC I pulled off my '31 A-front discs, drums on an 8" Ford rear. I am hoping for some help in identification before I drag it down to the parts store and start off the "What's it in?" discussion. Thanks

Numbers seem to indicate a '74 Ford. or maybe a '67 Mustang, but the ports are on the wrong side.

  3. Start trying Ford cars from '72-'78. You really need to know the bore size, push rod depth and line sizes to get the exact one.

When I worked in the auto parts business and put disk brakes on my 40 Willys I looked through the EIS book and found a MC that looked very much like that, it was from a Ford taxi. I needed the ports on the inboard side so as to move the MC as far over to the left as I could. This was around 72/73. Thats about all I can tell you.

  6. Cool, I just thought that's a good reference picture. No need for an NOS one! Good Luck!

Rats. That wasn't it=looked good, but was much too large. Mine seems to have a 0.9375 piston with 1/2" and 7/16" lines. We've got it narrowed down to about an '80 Fox body Mustang. NAPA's got one coming in the morning but WAY more expensive-$70 for reman with a core and $144 new. Another in town supplier has one for $100, but I'll try the reman. The second shop was really nice in helping me figure it out.

  9. 15/16 bore, with 7/16-24, 1/2-20 Wagner F105876. Rock auto lists it as:

    AMERICAN MOTORS EAGLE (1982 - 1988)
    AMERICAN MOTORS SPIRIT (1982 - 1983)
    JEEP CHEROKEE (1984 - 1989)
    JEEP COMANCHE (1986 - 1989)
    JEEP WAGONEER (1984 - 1989)
    JEEP WRANGLER (1987 - 1989)

If can run an adapter or change the tube end a 15/16 bore with 9/16-18, 7/16-24 Wagner F78672 is:
    FORD COUNTRY SEDAN (1971 - 1972)
    FORD COUNTRY SQUIRE (1971 - 1972)
    FORD CUSTOM (1971 - 1972)
    FORD GALAXIE (1971 - 1972)

'82 Mustang. Had to change the new bale for the old and take off the top to get it to fit. top goes on from the access hole but it's back together. Pricey,though-$70 with core exchange for a rebuild-$144 new.
