Event Coverage 3rd Annual West Coast Y-Block Shootout

We have set the date for the 2015 Y-Block Shootout on May 2nd at Barona Dragstrip near San Diego. The date coincides with the San Diego Antique Drags so there should be a good turn out of vintage race cars.
The Shootout is open to any Y-Block powered vehicle. If you don't want to race just drive your car and hang out.

We've made a few minor mods to front end on the Falcon. We should be up at the March Meet with it. We've got the motor apart on the John Hildebrands 34' apart. We should have it ready for the Y block shootout.
Get those wrench's turning.

 

I plan on going. Not to race but cruise up in my 56 and drink some beers. See you then.

 

I've left messages at least twice now on your phone line, the last one a day or two ago asking if you guys would have a Y Block valley cover with the baffled PCV port ready to send to me yet.

We had a great time up at the March Meet. We had a lot of interest in the Y-Block Falcon up there. We went to the top 6 in the Hot Rod Bracket out of 150 or so cars. Ran a best time of 10.42 @ 127.5 mph in test and tune.
Already looking forward to next year.

Saturday Saturday!! The Y Block shootout and The Antique Drags will be at Barona. The AFXers will be putting on an event as well. Should be a good show.

 

The 3rd West Coast Y block challenge is one for the history books now.
The racing was very very good. We got John Hildebrands engine done in the knick of time. Its gotta a little something extra running record MPH at 4200ft DA.
We saw some new faces this year, and had our first out of state tow-in. Thanks for making trip from Texas Pat F. Todd Ferguson took the challenge for the 3rd year in a row.

 

The final was sight to see .021 light to an .040. Todd ran almost dead on the number, John H was in chase and broke out by .03 sec.
If any of you Y blockers are intersted in a Shirt or an Event poster we may have some left over. More pics to come.
