Event Coverage Hot Rodder's funeral

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by hotrodA, May 1, 2015.

  1. One of my hot rod buddies and close personal friend passed away suddenly this week and his funeral was today. His coffin was carried in his 33 pickup, (that he had owned since HS), followed by a caravan of some of his personal collection.
The black 32 is an all steel gennie that his Grandpa owned.
    A fitting tribute.
RIP, my friend. I will miss you.

  2. Very sorry for your loss- may he rest in peace
Looks like he went out they way he would have wanted

  3. Sorry for your loss. Your buddy had really good taste. And was obviously held in high regard, for a parade such as that. God bless him.

So very sorry about the passing of your friend. I'm sure he was looking down and smiling at all that was done for him.

  7. Thanks, guys.
He had an eclectic taste in cars, from the no rust 27 roadster that had a hot late model Ford banger in it and the beater A tudor with a badass SBC to that gorgeous laser straight, black Chevelle. A couple of his other cars weren't there, like the black, flattie powered 34 5W and the 48 Caddy droptop.

Well he sure had good taste. What better way to go out than in your own hotrod.

How cool is that...your own personal Rod Run to the Cemetary.

What a fitting tribute, last ride in a hot rod draped in the flag. Sorry for your loss.

  17. Thanks for the thoughts.
Since we would meet up at the NSRA Knoxville thing this weekend, I thought it would be OK to bring him along in spirit today. We had one last time together looking at cars. Pretty melancholy day.

Our rodding community has lost a couple folks recently. A life is measured by the friends who show up at the end. Looks like the turn out speaks volumes about your friend. Very sorry for your loss.
