What other Ford model brakes will work with my 60 Lincoln?

Will brakes shoes from a 60 Galaxy or Fairlane work? My local Napa guy says he cant get them any more and I don't want to have to order on line.

Looking for some cross reference of what will work

    Thanks

  2. I think the Lincoln probably has bigger brakes then the galaxie. truck brakes may come closer to fitting and that is just a guess on my part.

OK just checked the 60 had 11 11/16 drums and 3" wide shoes nothing is going to fit that I can think of.

Gooz call yerby brake in west sacramento. They will make them on the spot. I can have someone pick them up for you.

  5. see post number 2 they are 11+" and 3" wide.

    Good info guys.

Tried calling but the number is no longer in service (916- 441-1461). Anyone have a better number?

One of my Bendix books shows the '60 Lincoln fronts were 11 1/16" x 3 1/2". I looked through the whole book and could find no other application, so you will probably have to have your shoes relined.

Looks like name change to fastundercar. Wonder if thats part of LKQ group. hope its the same great service.

  12. Lincoln brakes are definitely bigger (at least wider) than the Ford stuff. Old time stock car builders (circa 1975) used to seek out Lincoln spindles, brakes, etc for the added braking power.

Quick update... Yerby was bought out years ago according to the guy on the phone. He referred me to Rare Parts out of Stockton, CA but they only do suspension parts. They referred me to Capital Cluth & Brake in west Sacramento. These guys will be relining my shoes.

Hopefully I can get this all done before Santa Maria

    Thanks for the help guys!!!
