Folks Of Interest Dick Spadaro...

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by 19Ardun46, Apr 29, 2015.

  1. Received the bad news this afternoon from one of my New York buddies, Ken Doucette. Ken, Dick and I were all in college at Oswego State together and we all became high school shop teachers and we all had a passion for oval track racing and old cars.

Dick left us way too early. A long time buddy is gone and will be greatly missed by all that ever met him.

It was very sad to hear of Dick's fall into ill health. So as this news comes, while it is no surprise, it is also very sad as one always hopes that things will improve. Where there is life there is hope, so to speak.

I had some great constructive conversations with Dick, he was a very "switched on" guy.

    RIP Dick.

The news that we just did not want to hear. I can go back so many, many years ago on involvements with Dick...they are now memories in-bedded in me and will never forget. God Speed Dick, and do pave the way for us.

I never had the good fortune to meet the man, but whenever I talked vintage Fords to some of my older friends, his name ALWAYS came up. RIP.

He was my go-to guy, as he was to so many people. To say he'll be missed is an understatement. R.I.P.

This is sad to hear but we knew it was inevitable in the end. I so enjoyed talking to him and he making me laugh my ass off with his descriptions and language. I will miss him greatly but he will always bring a smile to my face and heart. God bless you Dick and to your family. Gods speed, in a flathead of coarse.

He was a great human being. Always ready to help and impart knowledge from the wealth of info he had accumulated over the years. He will be sorely missed in the hot rod community.

Always Iconic in his nature, whether at Hershey or close to home at Rhinebeck, NY. I hope they dedicate the show this weekend to him. Made it to his place once about 3 years ago. Awesome visit one on one ,on a Saturday morning. He wouldn't sell me a Columbia two speed rear end that he found at the swap in Rhinebeck without taking it apart first.
