Wow. Some really great photos here. Love the black & whites.

  12. Outstanding shots as always - the main reason we put on these shows is so we can go enjoy @Tom davison 's photos afterword. Hope you can come join us in Lafayette in October, Tom!

Sure, we all can take pictures, but these are artistry!...then again, so are so many of the cars there...I can't remember an event where there are so many rides that represent the spirit of the HAMB!..thanks for taking the time to take and post them!!

    Thanks, Dennis!

296ardun, I enjoy your photo posts on the Drag Racing topic. You like the kind of stuff as I do.

Dick, it was my pleasure to shoot the Herman/Gleim coupe. Mike and Bob are both great guys!

thanks for the pic Tom Davison
I almost didn't realize it was my car in black and white
you can see the smut on the frame where I broke the wishbone mount in Bastrop, TX on the way to Austin.
i meet some good people at A&E Welding just up on hwy 21 that is where i got it welded. Gary the owner for A&E call me this past Tuesday just to check if i made it home ok. well the rest of my welds held up to the Louisiana roads. This was by far the best car show i have been to. everyone i meet was nice and friendly in Texas and the show. i have been to some show where i was happy to leave. this show i will be marking on my calendar.
again thanks for the photo [IMG]

Hey Tom, As great as your pictures are, I always have to ask "no pictures of the vendors?" As usual I drove 3,000 miles to miss one of the best shows of the year (since I was inside vending) - which is why I love your photos so much. You remind the rest of us what all the excitement was about. When I do take breaks and check out the cars I like, I move past them too fast. You take the time to appreciate your subject matter, find the shot and then patiently wait for the right moment. Making art from cars parked close together and surrounded by hundreds of spectators is a challenge but you pull it off brilliantly. Looking forward to not seeing you at future shows, BO

  23. Looks like dark colored cars were in the majority, is that the case? Thanks for posting, I love to see the variety.

Bo, I just didn't make it into the building this year and now I regret it. It was a little hectic this year and we didn't arrive until noon on Saturday. I was trying to make up lost time covering the cars. Didn't get to listen to any of the bands either this year because of time constraints. I am pretty happy with the shots this year, I was looser, I guess. It would be a good idea to show some vendors in the coverage, although I am not that great shooting people.

Crusty, hmmm, can't say if there were more darker cars, or maybe I am just subliminally drawn more to them. Glad you are liking the variety.

Thank you for all the great shots from the show.
I was lucky enough to be there as a spectator, but somehow missed seeing many of the cars in your post, including the Lee Pratt '40 one of my all time favorite '40's.

The grassy area, referred to as the corral, spotlights many of the more interesting cars in the show. I think that many spectators miss this area. That's where Lee's '40 was parked both days.

I like the corral area because there are fewer people to get in the way of the cars when I shoot!
