Most folks aren't too keen on the bolt on hubs they used on Mopars thru the early 60s.

I think there's more modern stuff with better parts availability.

In case your going to buy it, I have a gearset, Republic Gears Formate, for a pre 57 Chrysler/Mopar in 4.10 or so ratio. I bought it from a speed shop 40 years ago and never used it. It's had some rust but I have cleaned it up a few times so it's usable, may make a little noise, but has never been installed. Like to see someone make use of it.

The 8¾ first appeared in 1957. The restore crowd tolerates the Jesus nut design, few others do.

Aside from the axle/hub design, you should know there in no parking brake mechanism in the brake assemblies. Mopars used a transmission mounted parking brake. It's not "bad" axle, just not very suited for other applications.
