Thanks JTR, there are quite few more images since your post. The caps on the '36, I am not sure; but I will try and find out for you.
On the Monday, Julie took Tony and I to see some of the sights around Aukland and to do a little gift shopping. I didn't take many photos that day. But there may be a few I will post.
On the Tuesday, Mike had taken the day off and we would be going on another garage crawl. So there will still be more interesting hot rod images to come in the next day or so.

  9. Good to see Tony's roadster made the trip as well to New Zealand however I cannot seem to see one of your cars Geoff amongst these photos???
Great effort with all those photos and thanks for sharing them with us all Geoff....

Thanks Gary. As you know it's a lot of work putting up all those images. But that is why I took them.
Damn, I need to find those shots with my coupe in it.

I just like to say thanks to Geoff for setting up the shots and stories of our trip. You are doing a good job Geoff as always, as I look at the shots they remind me of the great times and memories we shared with good people .

A great bunch of photos Geoff, thanks for sharing your trip. I really love that black 3 window 32 with the chrome wheels.

    Thanks guys.
Hey greaser, yes there is a really lot of great basic home built hot rods here and in new Zealand..
Hey Tony, good to hear from you. Yup lots of good memories in each and every shot.
Hi Chad. That black 3 window was one of my favorite hot rods of the trip. It was nearly perfection to my eyes.

That black highboy 5 window is exactly how gingers coupe is going to look. That coupe is killa.

Today I saw a hardcore traditional flathead powered 32 roadster in Lodz, Poland !!!! Moving to quick to get a pic but had something high in the motor man I didn't see it good but it could have been blown !! In far eastern Europe !! World epidemic that is what it is

Ah ha, Tom. You sure it wasn't a mirage or you hot rod mind playing tricks on you. Maybe a mere spectre in the distant confines of your mind, yearning to be home in your garage. Take it easy mate.
When I was down at Port Fairy, Rita, Tony and I went out to Carol and Franks for dinner one night. I got to see Frank's coupe, it's looking good.
That black 5W in my images was a neat hot rod. We got to meet the young owner, Steve and on the last night we got to visit with him in his garage. real nice guy, I have some photos that I will post later on. Frank's coupe will be a little tamer though, Tom. As Steve's runs a big block Ford and 4 speed stick.

After dinner we looked at the images I took on our trip. Thank's to Victoria and Rachael, hooking up the computer to the TV so we could see the images on the big screen. Boy I took a lot of shots.
My hot rod mind messes with my head also.
I saw this beautiful 3W at the Hot Rod Blowout in the flesh. But later my hot rod wondering mind saw this! An improvement? Some would say yes, some would say no!. I leave it up to the observer.
See Tom your not the only one that has 'visions'. I'm not even in some far flung corner off the world suffering some hot rod withdrawal. I am in my own garage surrounded by what I think is some pretty neat hot rod 'stuff' and I still have 'visions'. Maybe we need to see a shrink? Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I like the vsions!!!!!!!!!!!

I am going to skip a day here and go to the Tuesday.
On the Tuesday another garage crawl had been organised. Mike had taken the day off work and we would be getting toured around in his flamed Spinner. Boy the flathead goes well and sounds great running straight out through the lakes pipes.
Our first stop was Chris'. Once again I wont show all the images I took as I don't believe it is my place to show everything we saw.

Great photos Geoff, I like the sneaky ones especially the elevated ones. As for you're photo chop on the 3 window I personally like it low with the higher roof line. I also thought Tonys coupe looked better low with the high roof, I don't know why maybe they look like less of a fibreglass mould that way.

Now, that '34 whatever-into-a-pickup should have been made by Henry. Whodaky must have been responsible for that transformation. You really do some fabulous work, Bud.

Hey Wardog. That's the beauty of this hotrod thing we can start with the same basic car and personalise it to our own taste. I like that 3W just lowered as much as I do lowered and chopped!

Thankyou for the compliment's Gary. I can't take credit for that phantom pickup. It is the work of a very talented owner, named Dave. Who Tony and I talked to for quite a while. A lot of neat detail stuff on that pickup. I think we will borrow some of Dave's ideas. He was a really nice guy, into the bargain!

Hey Gary (? ), good to hear from you. Yeah we had a mighty fine time. We had great hosts in Julie and Mike, who looked after us so well.
I have one more garage to show and then I will do a post on Mike and Julie.
