If it makes you feel better I found my channeled '30 Roadster body in 1962, sold it in '76, and bought it back 25 years later withont a thing done to it. Bob:rolleyes:......Happy Thanksgiving!

    Back atchew Mike!

"maybe'', when Scoot finishes the Modified Murray a trip back to "Deliveranceville'' will be warranted, jus to kick the tyres and slam the doors! I'd like to see the deep rich bleu finish, and hear the thump of that ol' Hemi:D

  7. how did you get from here

So, from where I left off... I started making bucks to fab the filler panels for the wheel wells. I constructed wire frame bucks to get the shape I wanted. I made one piece at a time to make sure the shape was the same from left to right. Came together pretty easily actually. I used what would have been the rear door patch panels as a guide for the shape and bead. Worked out good.

The finished bucks to use as a guide for the panels.

With the help of another HAMBer we started making the panels but it became more of a learning process. Basically made a huge metal potato chip and then decided to regroup with some 20 ga steel, some hammering, some e-wheeling and possibly even making them from more than one piece. The task was pushed off due to a ton of other things that were going on car related and otherwise. Hope to pick back up on this soon with some more knowledge and some new ideas of how to approach the panels.

    No more WHEEL WELLS!!!

I sent Scooter the front of a 1950 Chevy hood, the shape is near perfect. Bob

WOW! Some pictures that I haven't looked at in a long time. And some work that I've since redone that I wasn't too proud of.

Answered the above question in PM before seeing this was bumped... Hope it cleared up a few things.

Going to do an update post on the car real soon. Just been very cold here and haven't been able to work on it. Started brake, clutch, fuel lines. Body will them come off again for finally paint. Then back together for final assembly. Crazy close, yet so far away. I can see the light, though!!

    Thanks Mike! I appreciate it!

    Thanks buddy!! You too!

I really hope I can! Miss all you kids!

Guys. Please don't bump this thread. Thanks!

Here is the most current (yet old) build thread:
    https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/modified-murray-the-last-build-thread.956908/

This thread is an old one. See the above link. There will be no others. And, thanks to PhotoFyou, there may not be any pictures left. I don't know....

Common' Mike! Stirring the pot? ;)
