1960 Big F-series ford gauge cluster with tachometer in my 1960 f100 pick up

I was hoping somebody could tell me if the tach drive out of the Lincoln Yblock could be adapted to the ford distributor.

 

I was told they both work?

 

If I could find a tach drive distributor for A 460 I might try to find one of those dashes for my 66 which there was one in a local junkyard but I opened my mouth and now its gone.

 

I was told by a very reputable mechanic that there is a way to use the Lincoln distributor with the tach drive in my Y block, but the gear has to be swapped. Does anyone know for sure about this?
